April 1, 2004 - Cynical would like to thank Chris Rush of WTOS for having us in their studio last night to perform. We had a blast and hope some of you caught it live. We should have MP3's of the performance posted here on our Web site soon. We also added a last minute show to our schedule at The Alehouse in Portland tonight, so you can check us out there too!

March 11, 2004 - We just confirmed a couple new dates at The Warden's Bar & Grill In Lewiston. This is the bar that used to be CJ's Sports Pub, but have recently changed management, added a kitchen and are back open for business. We'll be playing there Saturday night (13th) and April 17th.

March 8, 2004 - The local free publication, Uncle Andy's Digest, featured a review of Workin' With Wood in Razor Ray's monthly column. Thanks to Ray for giving us some ink. The review can be viewed in it's entirety on the Press page.

March 4, 2003 - We just confirmed with Chris Rush of WTOS that we'll be playing live in their studio on Wednesday, March 31st at approximately 6:10 pm. Tune in to 105.1 FM and check it out!!

February 19, 2004 - Today's edition of the Portland Press Herald featured the first review of Workin With Wood. We'd like to thank Aimsel Ponti for checking out the album and giving it some ink! The review can be found in its entirety on our Press page.

February 18, 2004 - Tonight featured the first airplay of our new album, Workin' With Wood, on local radio. We'd like to thank Chris Rush of WTOS for playing Deep Inside on their Homegrown show tonight.

February 13, 2004 - Tonight is our first time playing at The Uptown Tavern in Manchester, NH. We're playing with our friends, Bleedthrough, and are looking forward to a fun night. Make sure to catch us next week in Portland, at The Alehouse.

January 30, 2004 - Read the press release about the upcoming album.

January 23, 2004 - Our album is now in the hands of the CD replicator, Discmakers, and should be delivered to us on February 2nd. This album has been a long time in the making and marks the fruition of Cynical's long standing goal of recording this material. We are currently writing and rehearsing new material, and are very excited at the directions our new songs are taking.

December 21, 2003 - The artwork for the album has been completed and we expect to have CD's made in January. The artwork can be viewed at the following  link.

December 17, 2003 - Our album is completed and will be released in January 2004. It's sounding great and we're all very happy with the results. We'll be giving away an advance copy of it at CJ's Pub this weekend (Saturday, Dec 20),  as part of their Christmas party. We're expecting a fun night and will be pleased to share the CD!!

November 22, 2003 - We played our first gig with our new PA tonight and it sounded great. The addition of this PA will vastly improve the sound quality of future Cynical shows.

November, 2003 - We've finished our album and are shopping around with CD replication vendors. We hope to release the album by the end of the year.

September 27, 2003 - Today was a good day for the band. We spent the day in The Studio finishing the final tracks on our album and then had a gig in Augusta at the new Club Liquid (w/ 6Gig). We go in The Studio again Nov. 7 -9 to mix and master the album.

September 6, 2003 - Cynical will be playing with Inner Peace next Saturday, September 13, at CJ's Pub in Lewiston. The bands have pitched in and hired a professional sound man to record the show, so we're expecting a great sounding evening. Cynical will kick off the night at 9:00 pm sharp!

August 10, 2003 - Cynical will be playing at CJ's Pub in Lewiston tonight with Money $hot.

July 30, 2003 - We just confirmed that Cynical will be playing on Monday, August 4th at 9:30 pm at The Midnight Blues Club in Auburn. We'll be kicking off their open mic night and will be debuting some brand new material that will be featured on our forthcoming album.

July 26, 2003 - Cynical spent the day in The Studio laying down tracks for our album. We recorded all the music for 10 songs, and still need to record final vocal tracks and then mix & master all of it. We're hoping to have a final product by this Fall. Several names have been suggested for the album, including Intensity and Workin' with Wood.

July 17, 2003 - It was pointed out to us that we were the 8th most requested local, loud rock band on WRBC, the Bates College radio station. See the complete list below. Thanks to Razor Ray for playing us on WRBC!

June 18, 2003 - Cynical just booked their first gig since reuniting. We'll  be playing this Friday night at Club H2O in Lewiston, with Blue Collar Project and Escape Wheel.

June 17, 2003 - Cynical has signed up for the Maine Musical Festival, a battle of the bands type event sponsored by FACE magazine happening this October 16 - 18.

June 11, 2003 - Cynical received their first airplay today as WTOS included them in their local music show, Homegrown. A clip from the show is available on the Tunes page. You're encouraged to call WTOS at 207-621-9867 and request Cynical music. We can use all the help we can get!

May 2003 - Cynical has officially reunited and has booked time at The Studio in Portland to record on July 26.

April 26, 2003 - For the first time since last Fall's break-up, the members of Cynical got together and jammed Saturday. Talks are currently underway to reunite the band and record a full-length album this summer.  More news to follow.
